THE WORLD’S LARGEST FORESTRY COMPANY
Vardaman.com Forestry, the world’s largest
forestry company, began operations on 01/01/01, the first day of the new
millennium, when Kimble Vardaman, Jim Vardaman’s oldest daughter, added the new
red button “For Mgt Svs” on the home page of www.vardaman.com. The persons and companies listed under it
completed the array of those supplying all essential services in the business
of making money growing trees in SE U. S.
On 01/01/01 Vardaman.com Forestry had fulltime
foresters at 13 offices from Texas to North Carolina. It displays, free of charge, the wants of buyers of timber
and timberland, 45 of them in ten states so far. It offers the only free marketplace for sellers of timber
and timberland and providers of essential forest management
services. At 01/01/01, it contained
records of 830 timber and land sales.
It posts all bids received on JMV&CO sales and monthly estimates of
pine-plantation stumpage prices at ten locations. Its two Internet sites, www.vardaman.com
and www.se-timbersales.com,
contain more than 50,000 pages of data on all aspects of the business. It publishes a free weekly e-mail newsletter
for 3,100 subscribers and a free quarterly mail newsletter for 120,000
subscribers. Its computer records of
landowners contain more than 262,000 names, addresses, and location and size of
ownership.
The Internet, the best thing that ever happened to
the business of forestry, allowed us to build this foundation for a
profitable present and a most exciting future.
